St. Kateri Centre Receives $5,000 Donation from MusiCounts

On October 16, students and staff at the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Centre in Thorold held a celebration with the MusiCounts organization, funded by the Slaight Family Foundation, which awarded the school with $5,000 for musical instruments.

The instruments include trumpets, trombones and ukuleles, which will be used by students this year, and for years to come.

As part of the celebration, Indigenous singer iskwe (third from right in the photo) visited the school, and performed for students and staff. It was a very powerful and moving experience for everyone in attendance.
