NOTRE DAME COLLEGE ALUMNUS, SPEAKER AND AUTHOR MICHAEL JACQUES NAMED PRESIDENT OF COMMUNITY LIVING ONTARIO BOARD.
Congratulations to Michael Jacques, a graduate of Notre Dame College School, author, speaker and advocate for individuals with special needs, who was named President of Community Living Ontario’s Board. At 30, Michael is the youngest-ever Board President, and the first to have an intellectual disability and autism.
“I’ve gone my whole life hoping there would be people like me in positions like this,” Michael said in a press release issued by the organization. “I’m proud of who I am and honoured for this opportunity.”
Michael launched his first book, Can’t Read, Can’t Write, Here’s my Book a few years ago, and followed up as a co-author of a children’s book, I Belong: Can I Play? last year. He first joined Community Living Ontario through its Re:Action4Inclusion initiative more than 10 years ago, and has been on the board for six years.
