Lisa Breen

Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education

Niagara Catholic is extremely proud to announce that Lisa Breen, one of our outstanding Early Childhood Educators, has received a Certificate of Achievement from the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education.

Lisa was nominated for the Award by her colleagues in the Niagara Catholic Virtual School, where she supported kindergarten students from across Niagara during the 2020-2021 school year. She learned she has been named as a recipient – one of only two in Ontario – on November 19.

According to a colleague who nominated her, “Lisa always has the best interest of her students in mind. She is extremely passionate about providing not only engaging digital activities for the children but designing innovative ways to develop their creativity and their social skills. Aside from her commitment to the learning of her students she supports other educators in developing the competency and the confidence they need in the virtual classroom.”

Lisa, who has been an early childhood educator for 19 years and has been a part of our Niagara Catholic family for eight years, said she is humbled and grateful for the recognition by her colleagues.
