Niagara Catholic Students Bring Home Silver, Bronze from Skills Ontario

Congratulations to students from Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary School, Notre Dame College School and Saint Michael Catholic High School, who competed in at Skills Ontario in April and earned silver and bronze medals.

This year’s event was virtual, meaning students who won gold at Niagara Catholic’s Technology Skills event in March competed from their classrooms rather than at a large event as usual. This year’s results are below:

Silver Medallists

Baking – Luca Giancola – Notre Dame College School

Plumbing – Ethan Collee – Notre Dame College School

Vex Robotics – Team of Four – Hari Om Chadha, Joey Pogoda, Finnegan Quirk, Daniel Sowa – Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary School

Bronze Medallists

Animation – Team of Two – Jade Pellegrino and Trisha Solomon, Saint Michael Catholic High School

Coding – Nathan Smith – Notre Dame College School

Home Building – Team of Four – Garrett Deschambeault, Gavin Hill, Ryan Potts, and Braydon Snider – Notre Dame College School

Thank you to teachers Chris Beatty (Animation), Frank Mauro (Plumbing), Dino Nardangeli (Home Building), Joe Sciarra (Coding), Vincenza Smith (Baking), and Jimmy Yip (Vex Robotics) for their commitment and guidance to their students.
