COVID-19 Safety Protocols:

The Ministry of Education has the same guidance in place for safe school operations for the 2022-2023 school year as was in place beginning in March of this year for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year.

Please note that to ensure we are providing families with the most up-to-date information, we have included links on this page to the appropriate information sources. School and Board staff are not experts in public health, so please use these links for information about self-isolation or other requirements if someone in your family has been exposed to COVID, tested positive for COVID, or has travelled.

Hand Hygiene/Cough and Sneezing Etiquette

Hand washing and cough/sneeze etiquette signs will continue to be posted in all schools and staff will continue to encourage regular hand washing and/or the use of hand sanitizer throughout the day.

Masks will remain optional for all students, staff, and visitors at all Niagara Catholic schools and sites, as well as on school buses. The Ministry of Education will continue to supply school boards with masks for those who wish to use them. Niagara Catholic’s Mission, Vision, and Values support respectful and inclusive learning and working environments, and all individuals will be treated with dignity regardless of their masking choice.

Niagara Catholic continues to support the practice of daily self-screening for all students, staff, and visitors, which can be done through the provincial government’s COVID-19 school and child care screening tool. All students and staff are expected to stay home if they feel unwell and to test themselves if they have any symptoms of COVID-19 or know they have been exposed to the virus.

Niagara Catholic will continue with vigorous cleaning protocols to ensure our schools and sites are safe, healthy environments for all.

All students and staff are required to follow the Government of Canada’s travel requirements upon return to Canada.
