When I submitted my first Director’s Annual Report to the Ministry of Education in 2008, I was just four months into my leadership journey as Director of Education of Niagara Catholic. A great deal has changed in the past 12 years in education, but one thing remains the same - my passion and proud commitment to Catholic educational excellence in Niagara, and in Ontario.
So it is with mixed emotions that I submit my final Director’s Annual Report. This time of the year is always one for reflection, and it is especially so this year, as I look back on the year that was, and on what has been a truly rewarding vocation serving Catholic students, their parents, colleagues, the Board and the Diocese of St. Catharines throughout Niagara. Through our teamwork at all levels within Niagara Catholic, we have accomplished inspirational and forward-thinking priorities throughout 2019, and there is much more to do before the 2019-2020 school year draws to a close.
As we close the door on two decades of the 21st century I continue to be inspired by how much we have to be thankful for in Catholic education, most particularly for the women and men who have gone before us, laying the foundation for one of four truly excellent publicly funded education choices for families in Ontario. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished as a team, and I look forward to all we will achieve for the remainder of the school year, as we realize the dreams and aspirations of the Board’s Vision 2020 Strategic Plan. we have yet to do. I invite you to take a moment to look back at 2019 with us, as we celebrate another outstanding year at Niagara Catholic.
