Survey Information

Dear Niagara Catholic Families and Staff,

Niagara Catholic students, staff, and families will be invited to participate in a variety of online surveys over the next few months. Participation is voluntary, but we hope that you will share your thoughts about how we are doing with us. Each survey will have a separate communication with information about participation.

Parents/Guardians of All Students
Parents/ guardians are asked to provide input about how we are implementing the Board’s 2021-2026 Strategic Plan, Called by Name: Listening, Learning, and Leading. Families received this survey in an email from School Messenger on February 3. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is available until February 17, 2023.

If you did not receive a message, please check your spam/junk folder. If it is not there, please check with your child’s school to ensure that your correct email is on file. If you did not receive the survey and wish to, please contact info@ncdsb.com to have it sent to you.

Parents/Guardians of Students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Supporting Students Survey
The Supporting Students Survey will be available for parents/guardians of students with Individual Education Plans to provide feedback. A separate link will be sent through School Messenger at a later date.

School Climate Surveying: Middle Development Instrument (MDI) and COMPASS for Students, and School Climate Survey for Families
Positive school climate is essential for students to succeed and to experience a sense of belonging in Niagara Catholic schools. This spring,  students in grades 4 and 7 will have the opportunity to participate in the Middle Development Instrument (MDI) to express how they are thinking and feeling about their experiences inside and outside of school. Students in grades 9-12 will have the opportunity to participate in the COMPASS survey. Parents/guardians will be invited to participate in our School Climate Survey for Families near the end of the school year.

Voluntary Student Census:  K-8 and 9-12
Students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 will be invited to participate in the voluntary Student Census at home with their families as required by the Ministry of Education. Students in Grade 9 to 12 will be invited to participate in the voluntary Student Census at school.

Staff:
Staff are asked to provide input about how we are implementing the Board’s 2021-2026 Strategic Plan, Called by Name: Listening, Learning, and Leading. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and has been shared with staff. School staff are also encouraged to provide feedback to the Board through the School Climate Survey for Staff when it is available this spring.

The Niagara Catholic District School Board values all student, parent/guardian, and staff engagement, involvement, and feedback to ensure that programs, services and supports meet the needs of Niagara Catholic students.

Thank you for your willingness to participate.

Sincerely,

Camillo Cipriano, Director of Education
