Sacramental preparation is the primary responsibility of your local parish, however with the support of the Diocese of St. Catharines, we are providing a sacramental preparation program through our Virtual Chapel.
Our recommended program for First Reconciliation & First Communion is an adaptation of the Dynamic Catholic "Blessed" Sacramental Preparation Program. Each session is comprised of 7 short videos and a journal response. A printable PDF for journaling at home can be downloaded here.
We've also a created program for Confirmation based on Dynamic Catholic's "Decision Point" Program. Each session is comprised of a video and a journal reflection.

Dear Jesus, I hope receiving you in the Eucharist inspires me to . . .
Journal Reflection: Like the other sacraments, Confirmation is an intimate encounter with Jesus Christ. Take some time to reflect. In a journal, online or on paper, write about which areas you need to work on in order to become the best version of yourself. Ask Christ to guide you in these areas as you prepare for your Confirmation.
Journal Reflection: In a journal, online or on paper, describe a time when you worked hard to prepare for something important. Why did you work so hard to prepare for it? Did your preparation make a difference?
Examine your conscience (using the link below) and then find time to go to Confession sometime before your Confirmation.
When is the best time of your day for you to set aside time for a prayer?
Journal Reflection: Choose 1 item from each list and online or on paper, describe why these two things are important to you or why you are looking forward to receiving them through your Confirmation.
Ways Confirmation will change you:
- Better relationships (increasing self knowledge, emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence)
- A sense of mission
- The perfect career path
- Inner peace
- Great decision making
Gifts of the Holy Spirit:
- Counsel or Right Judgement
- Fortitude or Courage
- Fear of the Lord or Reverence
Journal Reflection: “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15) What might be holding you back from putting God first in your life? In a journal, online or on paper, describe the steps that you would take to work towards preventing you from putting this above God.
